Page 3 - Derren Brown Live show [Research]

To research further into the word 'truth' and the different aspects such as: Reality, Lies, Mental Illness, depression, dreams and rules I decided that I should look into people who lie for a living. I decided to focus on someone who uses lying to entertain and amaze people. Derren Brown's ;latest live show 'Miracle' focussed on the power of the human mind and challenged what many people think is possible. This linked into reality, lies, dreams and rules so I felt that it would be a great way to get inspiration and find alternate ways of exploring these ideas.

Throughout the performance I made notes of every act that I thought was looking at my chosen themes. The performance started with a voice over telling the audience about 'the story we tell ourselves' this intern inspired me to look into the idea of stories being 'truth' because some stories can impact our lives in many different ways, therefore it would be interesting if stories such as news bulletins either didn't exist or had a different ending/narrative. Derren used the audience to create stories that he would then read out claiming them to be 'random', this in turn would prove his magnificence when he predicted it, this was obviously all sly placement but he used 'lying' to amaz people.

So I would my mind map and I could talk about it here and explain certain aspects I liked.

At the moment I am typing this the room is filled with year 11's using the printer, which has broken so actually getting this in my book would take a good 20 minutes. This is why I would have a blog because I can quickly access it and not have to deal with unreliable equipment.
